Following "plusoptiX A08" we are offering our 2nd generation Binocular Autorefractor "plusoptiX A09" today. It is especially designed for pre-verbal infants (6 months and older) as well as non-cooperative patients.

This includes patients with developmental delay, autism, traumatic brain injury and restricted mobility. Therefore you may be eligible to a 50% tax credit under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Please check with your tax advisor if you qualify.

Features

• Both eyes are measured simultaneously
• Measurements are performed from 3.3 feet (1 meter) away
• Readings include full refraction, pupil sizes, PD and corneal reflexes
• Acquisition time is 0.8 Seconds
• Full range documentation options

Measurement Procedure

Taking a measurement is easy and takes less than one second. Start the camera by pressing the trigger, a warble sound attracts attention, capture both eyes in the white rectangle on screen and a measurement is performed automatically.

Measurement distance is 3.3 feet (1 meter) with a tolerance of +-2 inches (+- 5 centimeters), so slightly moving patients can be measured, too. Measurement results are displayed on screen immediately

Measurement Results

Measurements can be performed in un-dilated as well as dilated pupils. You can also refract through glasses to check present prescriptions. Measurement results include:

• refraction in sphere, cylinder and axis for OD and OS
• pupil sizes for OD and OS
• inter pupillary distance
• corneal reflexes, i.e. a gaze symmetry evaluation with "0" indicating symmetric
   eye alignment

Because both eyes are measured simultaneously from 3.3 feet (1 meter) away, readings are accurate in un-dilated pupils with one exception only: hyperopia readings are likely to be biased by accommodation.

Use our optional +3dpt spectacles for a quick accommodation test. When measuring dilated pupils, please note that pupil size must not exceed 8mm diameter.

Measurement Documentation

A video file is captured during each measurement. Sharing this video file with parents sometimes helps to "justify" further exams or treatment. In addition, you are able to print measurement results for your paper records. Your printing options are:

• a self adhesive label
• a screen shot
• a measurement report (optional software license required)

Measurement reports are intended to be a giveaway for parents to promote your service within their family and among their friends. You are able to add office specific information as well as advertisement.

If your office uses Electronic Medical Records (EMR), you are able to connect the device to your computer network in order to import patient data and export screening results to your EMR automatically.

If you don't use EMR but want to save patient data and measurement results electronically, you can use our optional in-built database. This database enables you to review all previous measurement results of one patient in a chronological order.
