OTI's new Spectral system is a combination Spectral OCT and Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (SLO) system that provides suberb, high-quality images of the vitreo-retina, retina, and choroidal-retina structure. With the advancements of spectral technology, OTI's sytem can reach scanning rates of up to 27,000 A-Scans per second and provide images with a resolution of 5-6 microns.
The unique dual OCT and SLO imaging of OTI's system provides a confocal fundus image allowing for accurate point to point registration and orientation of the B-Scan image in real-time. Other spectral systems are using 3D reconstructions to help identify the location of the B-Scan, by creating quasi-SLO images from large 3D images. These images, which are rendered and manipulated after the scan, are time consuming, and slow down patient throughput. With OTI's system, this information is available on-screen in real time.
OTI's new system offers a wide range of clincial possiblilities with its ability to provide high resolution B-Scan images, 3D Tomographic and Topographic data, and Optic Nerve and RNFL data for monitoring glaucoma patients. Its ability to fuse with other modalities such as optional Microperimetry make it an affordable, space-saving alternative to purchasing an entirely new system for this function.
